hello. I'm used to african cichlids, but had a tall tank after I moved so I gave the cichlids away to someone for their own good. Since I had them in the tall tank for a bit I let it cycle and decided to get 3 angel fish. There were already 6 danios but i was told they would get along. I bought 3 fish and got several different foods (frozen brine shrimp, flakes, etc.) so they would eat. I got them home and aclimated them as best I could. They seemed happy and normal at the store and when they got home but....
The next morning I tried to feed them and they wouldn't eat. hmmm... I thought maybe they were just still a little nervous...that night the same. i tried tubifex worms, brne shrimp, flakes, and little shrimp,...nothing. They didn't seem nervous of the danios but i took them out anyway to give the angels a little space(don't worry danios are in a temp 10 gallon)
I got the angels sat and by wed after no eating one started to act real nuts. He started swimming into stuff, hitting the bottom and convulsing. Needless to say i took them back. They said it was a liver disease, but one of the others was starting to act that way too.
What do you think? Tank 35 gallons, ph 6.5, nitrates etc ok, temp 78, lots o tall plants. What was wrong with these guys?
One more question. I got them at a store close by cause they appeared healty and it was less of a trip even though i didn't really like the store that much. Awesome store is 1/2 hour away and i heard angels hate being transported. Is that too far of a trip in this winterery NE weather?
